"I was just saying to my husband how much I like working with the people at the Ian Johnson Agency. Through sales of homes, purchasing homes as well as settling a claim from a very serious car accident and the usual issues that come up they have been there for us 500 percent for many years

"Because of screw up in Ian's office my homeowners insurance is now cancelled. What's the screw up? Ian's office changed the mortgage company to the wrong bank even though it has been with the same bank for years

He's living off his history as a past big star for BSU. His skills as a State Farm agent are awful.

Insured with State Farm now for 36 years and this is the absolute worst agent I have ever had.

Edit: In responce to Ian's reply.

I had received a text message from "Mary" telling me that Bank A was listed as the Mortgage holder after I contacted your office about the insurance listing the mortgage company incorrectly. I told her Bank B is, and has been for years, our Mortgage Company. I then told her Bank A was our HELOC. She asked me to provide proof. I said I will not, that she should be able to see when the change was made as Bank B had paid the insurance in May last year. She said she didn't see a change and I still needed to provide evidence that Bank B was our Mortgage holder now. Again, I said it's not a new thing, it has been with Bank B for YEARS. After I told her to contact the regional office is when she FINALLY sent me the declarations page for ME to forward to Bank B. Bank B told us they were going to add their insurance because they had not seen anything from State Farm.

So THAT is where the confusion came from. Instead of researching, Mary decided to argue with me. THIS is poor customer service."
We responded:
"Thomas I reached out to your a few times to let you know that your insurance never cancelled and its currently active and paid. I don't know where the misunderstanding is but you only received a notification that the mortgage company had not paid yet and when you spoke with my office they called them immediately to make sure they had everything and the payment was sent. Your policy would not have cancelled for 2 more months."

"5 stars goes to Mary! I see that other reviewers agree, which tells me she delivers top notch service to everyone. I don’t really interact much with Ian, but if I need him, he does make himself available/accessible. I rely on Mary for quick answers and she really does get back to me quickly and make me feel safe at State farm."

"Absolutely do not recommend this location based on my experience with Mary, who apparently is the manager in town. She informed me that she was “too busy” to take a simple phone call regarding a new quote she was actively working on for a brand-new business account, which is why she insisted on only texting instead of handling things professionally over the phone.

What makes this even more ironic is that immediately after ending that conversation, I called the branch back and Mary herself answered the phone — not the receptionist. So clearly she was capable of taking calls, just apparently not the one involving the client she was already assisting.

I have never met or spoken to this woman before, so having my very first interaction be this rude, dismissive, and unpleasant was honestly shocking. Instead of simply communicating directly and professionally, she chose to conduct conversations through a receptionist on a three-way call, making a very simple issue unnecessarily frustrating.

Her attitude over the phone was nasty, impatient, and completely lacking basic customer service skills. If this is how management treats potential and current customers, I would strongly suggest taking your business elsewhere. Professionalism and respect cost nothing, and unfortunately neither were present during this interaction."

"Poor customer service. Was a customer almost 10 years. Treat you more like a policy number than a human being. Missed an auto payment because of an auto transfer on my end, which I guess ended future auto payments and caused me to miss another payment. No phone call, just mail saying my policy was terminated. Finally went back and forth via email, Mary didn't know how to answer my question, Ian jumped in, no empathy and was happy to cancel my life insurance at my request. Really disappointing that there was nothing more he did to make it right or keep a customer that had been around that long."
